Surgery Prevention

Surgery

As you may understand surgery is a necessary part of medicine. It would be unwise to state otherwise.

The question is—-when?

The answer is—– when conservative treatment fails. Here we go to the core of the problem!

From the point of view of an orthopedic or neurologic surgeon, the only conservative therapy appropriate for a musculo-skeletal problems is so called “physical therapy”, which for the most part is useless in serious cases. The result? The patient ends up on the surgical table.

I have almost 30 years of experience, and my take on this problem is that it’s quite sad. In my opinion, 70 to 80% of all spine and joint surgeries are avoidable. 20-30% are absolutely contraindicated Meanwhile manual therapy performed “lege artis” eliminates the need for surgical intervention.

There are conditions that undoubtedly require surgeries, such as full muscle tears, complicated fractures, tumors, etc. Unfortunately we see huge number of surgeries performed on patients with regular osteoarthritis. The majority of these surgeries bring a patient temporary, if any, relief.

The statistics speak for themselves. However you can only imagine the regret patients feel when they realize they have made an irreversible mistake.

Spinal fusion, metal plates planted into the spine, and similar barbaric things—THEY ARE FOREVER.

Also keep in mind that so called “minimally invasive” surgeries are not really minimally invasive!

Think about it!

You do not have to agree with me. But! At least do serious research and check statistics of failed spinal and joint surgeries before you agree to surgery.
